CLEANUP COLLABORATION
WHAT:
Inspired by neighborhood walks, Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots program, and reading about Isatou Ceesay in his second-grade class, Collin, with the help of his family, is launching an effort to help the environment by reducing the amount of litter and trash in our neighborhoods.
WHERE:
Our neighborhoods, streets, parks and any other place you see trash
WHO:
Collin, his family, and everyone else interested in joining by collecting and properly disposing of trash and recyclable materials
WHEN:
Now! Tell us you are ready to be a part of the team, and we will deliver to your porch a Getting Started Kit (while supplies last – for local collaborators only).
WHY:
1) When we work together for a common, greater good, we are more impactful than going at it alone. 2) We need to take care of our planet. 3) It is fun and important to explore and learn about the natural world around us. 4) Having a shared goal is a great way to stay connected with friends and neighbors.
HOW:
If you’d like to collaborate with us, please email cleanupcollaboration@yahoo.com to let us know! Your mission is simple. Pick up litter when you are out and about. If you want to help track our collective progress, use this form to report the weight (we use a food scale) of the trash you’ve collected.
We hope to use this website to document our journey and periodically post educational materials about our planet and its fascinating inhabitants, the impact of waste on Earth’s ecosystems, and the three Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle).
We are excited to get started and discover what changes we can make.
